Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh cherries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 F degrees.Remove pits from cherries and slice them in half. Add to saucepan on medium heat with the sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice and salt. Cook for 5 minutes and stir occasionally. Mix flour, sugar, egg, milk, baking powder in a bowl. Melt the butter in a skillet and pour mixture in evenly. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes at 350F.
